NO GREAT IDEAS

Hello, there!

My name is Jan… and I am now, like at this very moment, experiencing my most terrifying midlife crisis that is now pushing me to “re-ignite” my passion in visual creativity.

This so-called passion started when I was in my late teens, early 20s. But as I grew older (and older), that room and time spent on photography got smaller and smaller, thinner and thinner — dude needed and still needs to make money!

I now have the opportunity to re-train myself, and to study and keep up with the latest trend in multimedia arts. So yeah, I am currently grabbing every opportunity I could get by the balls.

Transitioning in Germany

Hi there, my name is Jan.

I left the semi-corporate world of the Philippines and Singapore back in the end of 2015 to face a new (and very challenging) life in Germany. Moving in the country has had - and still has - its challenges: the food; the lifestyle; the weather; and definitely the language.

Over the years, I have met some interesting people from my language classes bringing in different culture, interesting life background and stories, and different and amazing stories to tell about their past and on-going good and bad experiences moving to a different country.

What about my job?
End of 2017 when I started working in Fujifilm Imaging Products & Solutions. It has it’s ups-and-downs, but i am confident to say, that it has changed my perception of the world, my political views, my “openness”, and it has given me the opportunity to make strong connections and friendship over the past 7 years.

What’s the drawback?
When there are ups, there are definitely some downs.
It’s probably my age, and not more of the three-shift system, that has made me decline my interest in photography. I unfortunately did not have the motivation to go around the country and explore the cities and the landscapes that much to carry around such heavy gear with me. Like I said, it has more something to do with my age.

So moving on from the company, I have decided to work on my passion again on digital arts — focusing on photography, photoediting and publishing designs, and eventually hoping to transitioning into videography.

Here’s to a new beginning, a restart, and to hopefully sharing some photos I have taken the past year on holidays, and hopefully seeing the improvement I will be making.
